After her third child, a woman opted for a mommy makeover in her 20s, but surprisingly, she ended up pregnant again nearly a decade later.

Tarina “Richie” Green decided to enhance her figure and restore her confidence by undergoing breast augmentation and tummy tuck a year after welcoming her third daughter. She expressed to PEOPLE, “I wanted to reclaim my confidence and feel like myself again after years of carrying children.” The changes to her body made her feel older than her years, and she felt the surgery helped her regain a youthful appearance.

As time went by, Green, now 34, and her husband viewed their family as complete. “We’d tried for boys without success,” she revealed.

However, she was surprised when she learned she was pregnant again last year (she shared the news of her baby boy’s arrival on Instagram on February 11).

During her fourth pregnancy, Green felt notable differences due to her previous tummy tuck, a procedure that tightens the abdomen by removing excess skin and fat. She mentioned feeling “ongoing tightness” and “discomfort” as her belly expanded. On Instagram, she noted how her first and second trimesters “hurt a ton from all the stretching.” Additionally, she dealt with increased sensitivity and numbness around her incision sites and faced higher risks for complications like hernias and seromas.

Interestingly, she also observed how her baby bump looked; it seemed to protrude less because of the surgical tightening, even though her baby had “plenty of room to grow.” She remarked that the baby felt as though he was positioned lower than usual and that she started to feel him move earlier than in her previous pregnancies—around the 13-week mark, which was quite wild.

Even after eight hours of labor, Green noticed how well her body responded; she said, “I had a flat tummy just hours after giving birth.”

Despite the challenges her tummy tuck posed during pregnancy, Green has no regrets. She insists, “It was worth every penny.” While she doesn’t have any immediate plans for further cosmetic procedures, she remains open to the idea of another enhancement in the future, depending on her recovery and finances. “I’ll see how my body snaps back. Some changes can’t be fixed in the gym, so if funds and health allow, I’d consider it again.”
