Taylor Lorenz Continues to Advocate for Masks Five Years Later

Taylor Lorenz continues to recommend that people put up chain-link fences for safety. She suggests that wearing a mask can help prevent the spread of viruses.

“If you find yourself in Cuba or similar underprivileged areas, wearing a mask is advisable.” The long-awaited AWFL event will take place at the AWFL Dome this weekend. “Even with six years of living through this pandemic, and despite whatever the ‘leftists’ shout or protest, airborne diseases are a genuine concern.”

“It’s simple to avoid infecting those around you,” she remarks. “Nobody demands perfection, but if the request is to avoid harming vulnerable groups and your response is to throw a tantrum, then you’re not taking this seriously.”

But based on what, really?

The droplets theory resonates with me. Sure, if you’re feeling under the weather in a medical setting, a mask seems reasonable. Yet, what about when you’re healthy? This is just irrational. It’s always been so. We don’t confine healthy individuals at home or expect them to wear masks. The issue with individuals like Taylor Lorenz is their inability to pivot; admitting a mistake seems more daunting than holding on to the mask narrative. Even now, with the coronavirus nearly on par with the flu, she’s clinging to the mask belief because it’s easier than facing her errors.

I do find the notion of healthy folks traveling to Cuba, believing in masks, somewhat appealing. It could be an interesting plan and a fitting destination.

The thrust here reflects a trend in left-wing extremism. It’s not so much about persuasion as it is about weariness, pushing us to give in just to silence them. This tactic seems less effective than before. Many decent individuals resist this kind of authority, finding joy in rebelling against self-appointed enforcers. Historically, this has often been the left’s approach when they lack factual and moral grounding.

Furthermore, many people still donning masks nowadays seem to sport rather unclean ones, often hanging low.

The entire mask discussion flies in the face of common sense, especially when considering thousands of years of human history without them. It also highlights our tendencies to control and manipulate ourselves. These actions don’t stem from altruism but rather from less admirable motivations.
