Legal Action Against Rams Receiver
A woman from Los Angeles has initiated a civil lawsuit against Puka Nacua, a wide receiver for the Rams, claiming he made “unfounded anti-Semitic remarks” and then bit her on the shoulder.
The lawsuit includes allegations of assault and battery, negligence, and sexual assault.
The complainant, Madison Atiabi, states that the incident occurred on New Year’s Eve in Century City. Court documents reportedly indicate that Atiabi felt “immediately uncomfortable and mentally distressed” due to Nacua’s comments, which allegedly included disparaging remarks about Jewish people.
Additionally, Atiabi claims that while they were in a vehicle together, Nacua “forcibly” bit her shoulder, leaving a distinct tooth mark. The lawsuit further alleges that he bit a friend’s thumb with enough force to elicit a scream from his colleague.
As reported by ESPN, the woman sought a temporary restraining order, but her request was turned down. A public hearing on the matter is slated for April 14.
TMZ was the first outlet to break news of the lawsuit. Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCassan, maintains that the accusations of anti-Semitic comments are “strongly” denied. He described the alleged biting incident as mere “horseplay.”
McCassan added, “Our office was approached with demands for millions in exchange for not disclosing these allegations. This claim lacks legitimacy and serves as a threat.”
Furthermore, McCassan mentioned that a defamation lawsuit would be filed against Atiabi, asserting they would pursue all legal avenues to counter what he characterized as false and damaging statements.
