Kayla Nicole, who previously dated Travis Kelce, is set to star as the next ‘Bachelorette’ on ABC. This comes after the network decided to cancel the upcoming season led by Taylor Frankie Paul, which was originally scheduled to premiere on March 22.
Nicoledated Kelce on and off from 2017 until 2022. On Wednesday, she shared a TikTok that humorously suggested she was auditioning for the show.
“My audition to be the next Bachelorette,” she captioned the video, where she lip-syncs to a fun audio clip.
In the video, she called out, “Hey @ABC, I heard you need a replacement?” along with a red rose emoji and a laughing emoji. It looked like she was just messing around.
Nicole recited a script where the narrator highlights achievements typically found on a dating profile.
Since her breakup with Kelce, Nicole has not been publicly linked to anyone else. She seemed to be joking throughout her video.
This isn’t her first dive into reality TV. She previously won Season 3 of Special Forces: The World’s Toughest Test, where she was one of the finalists alongside Brody Jenner last February.
ABC’s parent company, Disney, has opted not to air Frankie Paul’s season due to a troubling video from 2023 that showed him throwing a chair toward his ex-girlfriend Dakota Mortensen while their 8-year-old daughter was present.
Paul and Mortensen, who appeared in Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” are under investigation for domestic violence in Utah.
Disney has yet to announce any new casting plans for “The Bachelorette.”
In other news, Kelce has recently signed a notable deal with Taylor Swift, a 14-time Grammy Award winner.
Swift, who is also a three-time Super Bowl champion, extended her contract with the Kansas City Chiefs for three years at $57.7 million, a decision that came after she briefly considered retirement. Their relationship began in the summer of 2023, officially announced in October.
Kelce and Swift got engaged last August and are said to be planning their wedding this summer.
