Savannah Guthrie Shares Insights on Mother’s Disappearance

Savannah Guthrie has opened up about the unsettling details from her home the morning after her mother, Nancy, vanished without a trace. Among the troubling signs were a door that appeared to be “swung open” and personal belongings scattered across the house.

“The door was thrown open, there was blood on the porch, and the Ring camera had been ripped out,” Savannah told her “TODAY” colleague, Hoda Kotb, during an emotional interview that aired on Thursday.

“So we thought, ‘This can’t be right.’ We figured she must have had some sort of medical episode during the night, and maybe the paramedics were called, given that there was support near the back door,” she explained.

However, it soon became clear that something was seriously amiss.

“I wondered if they had come and taken her out the back because there was a stretcher,” Savannah remarked.

While investigators have disclosed some findings from Nancy’s home, including a cellphone, they’ve maintained a tight-lipped stance regarding the broader circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

Although Savannah was not in Arizona on February 1st, the day her mother disappeared, her sister Annie was in Tucson. Upon hearing from a friend that Nancy hadn’t shown up for church, Annie rushed back home.

At that point, the state of the house prompted the family to call the police.

After checking local hospitals and finding no sign of a medical emergency, Savannah quickly booked a flight to Arizona to assist with the search.

“It’s really frightening,” Savannah reflected. The situation took a darker turn when alarming footage from Nancy’s security system revealed an armed intruder attempting to break in.

“It’s utterly terrifying. I can’t fathom that was the person she saw standing over her bed,” Savannah expressed, tears in her eyes.

Almost two months have passed since Nancy disappeared, yet there has been no sign of her, and no suspects have been named.

Although several individuals were detained for questioning, they were all released shortly after.

A series of ransom notes demanding cash for Nancy’s safe return or information related to her case have since surfaced, but no further clues have emerged.

Savannah admitted that she feels an urgent need to discover what truly happened to her mother, but she also shared a deeply personal belief that she has already received a message from a higher power revealing the truth.

“I heard a voice telling me that ‘You know where she is. She’s with me,'” Savannah recounted. “So whether she’s still here or has gone to heaven, I have peace knowing where she is. But we still need to understand what happened.”
