Teen driver crashes into Texas house, resulting in the deaths of a mother and her young son.

A Texas mother and her 7-year-old son tragically lost their lives when a teenager drove into their home late at night, according to police and news agencies.

Around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, 18-year-old Gracie Yates was taken into custody in Stephenville after reportedly crashing into the bedrooms of 7-year-old Alex Aaron Rocha and 49-year-old Barbara Rocha.

Authorities stated that despite efforts to save them, both the mother and child died from their injuries.

Raul Rocha, Alex’s older brother, recounted, “All I heard was the crash. When I entered the room, all I heard was my brother’s screams and my mother’s prayers.” He described the harrowing moment as one that’s now etched in his mind.

He continued, expressing disbelief over the loss: “I never imagined something like this happening. Losing my mom… she didn’t deserve this. She was always so kind, caring for everyone around her.”

Yates is facing two counts of manslaughter, according to jail records. Police have not disclosed if she was under the influence while driving.

However, a GoFundMe page created for Barbara and Alex’s family alleged that a “drunk driver” was to blame for this unimaginable tragedy. The page described the sudden loss of his family and home for Alfredo, the father.

It emphasized that Alfredo and his loved ones are good people who shouldn’t have to endure such a disaster caused by impaired driving.

The grieving father shared that he now finds himself not just without a home but also facing the burdens of funeral costs as he seeks immediate assistance.

Yates was released on a $14,500 bail by Tuesday, as reported in court records. Police mentioned that their investigation is still in progress.
