Catholic Schools Worker Who Daydreamed About Trump's Assassination Let Go

Termination of Catholic School Employee Over Trump Comments

An employee of a Catholic school system in Ontario, Canada, has been let go following alarming remarks about former President Donald Trump. Cathy DiFilippo Kiley, who worked as a payroll administrator for the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board, was dismissed after what the board described as an “internal process.” This decision came shortly after a video of her controversial comments circulated widely on social media, racking up over 1.4 million views after being shared by LibsofTikTok.

In the deleted video, DiFilippo Kiley expressed her wish for Trump to be publicly assassinated, stating, “I don’t think that this should be a health event, that’s not tragic enough.” She elaborated on her fantasy, suggesting it should occur at a public event. Her comments included a blunt declaration that many would likely cheer for such an outcome, adding, “I know I will be cheering.”

Following the backlash, DiFilippo Kiley stated, “All I can really say is that I truly feel terrible about everything. I deeply regret what I said, and I meant no harm or threat to anybody.” She attempted to clarify that she is not a hateful or violent person and expressed remorse to anyone she may have offended. However, her earlier statements highlighted her unfiltered thinking, revealing a stark contrast to her later regret.

Trump himself has faced threats to his life before, notably surviving an assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. This incident occurred in July 2024 when a shooter fired from a distance, injuring Trump and killing a bystander. Another attempt happened in September 2024, involving a secret service interaction with someone lying in wait near a golf course.
