What I appreciate most about Shannon Bream’s motivating new book on faith

Shannon Bream's latest book arrives at No. 1 on the bestseller list.

New Book by Shannon Bream Highlights Biblical Heroes

In her latest bestselling book, “Nothing is Impossible for God,” Fox News anchor and author Shannon Bream shares the stories of 11 biblical heroes, featuring well-known figures like Joseph and Moses.

Interestingly, she begins with her own experience of overcoming severe eye pain, which led to deep depression at age 39. As she grappled with her condition, Bream turned to online forums, leading her to consult Dr. Thomas Clinch at the Washington Eye Clinic after a cancellation opened up an appointment. This timely visit, she believes, was a sign from God. Clinch diagnosed her with Map Dot Fingerprint Dystrophy, a condition previously overlooked by other doctors. This condition results in small scars on the cornea, causing significant discomfort. Dr. Clinch’s treatment involved a combination of ointments, eye drops, and tear duct plugs to improve her eye health.

Shannon Bream is genuinely one of the most gracious and humble personalities I’ve come across in media. Her sincere gratitude for her recovery is evident, and it aligns beautifully with the theme of her book, where her faith guides her exploration of the biblical figures that resonate with her.

She offers profound insights into Moses’ story, starting with the courageous act of his mother who defied the orders of the time by saving her son from certain death in the Nile. While many know the tale of Moses being found and adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter, Bream emphasizes his unyielding connection to his people, even as he ultimately defended them.

Following a notable incident where Moses killed an Egyptian overseer, he became a fugitive, but Bream highlights his years as a shepherd, faithful in his duty without lamenting his lost status as a prince. “God can and will show up during difficult times, even if others aren’t aware of your dedication,” she reflects.

Throughout the book, she references the Bible, including a moment when God calls out to Moses from the burning bush, further intertwining personal reflection with scripture. She admits that, personally, her reaction might not have been as calm as Moses’ when faced with such divine communication.

In another chapter focusing on Joseph, she recounts his brothers’ arrival in Egypt during a famine, not recognizing him. Bream poignantly depicts Joseph’s emotional turmoil as he hears their language. Despite his hurt, he extends kindness to them, which they misinterpret due to their own guilt.

Ultimately, Shannon Bream conveys that the Bible recounts not just ancient tales but also profound stories of resilience and leadership. Her experiences make her uniquely equipped to share these inspiring narratives.
