Gavin Rossdale on Co-Parenting with Gwen Stefani
Gavin Rossdale describes his co-parenting journey with Gwen Stefani as akin to a “two-lane highway” that remains distinct. In a conversation, he reflected on their relationship and how they are raising their three children: Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo.
“It’s quite a dynamic… a two-lane highway that never merges, but that’s okay,” Rossdale shared. He emphasized that both he and Stefani are committed to doing their best as parents.
Explaining his analogy further, he said, “She’s probably trying her hardest, I’m doing my best too, and my kids are growing up well. I’m just supporting the system, and that’s perfectly fine.”

Rossdale’s top priority in parenting is ensuring his kids grow up to be “likeable.” He noted, “Life is already tough enough; if you have kids who aren’t likeable, it might make it even harder for them.” He believes empathy and consideration are crucial traits for navigating life’s challenges.
He added that Stefani aims to be a positive role model, demonstrating to their children how to engage respectfully with others. “I strive to create a stable life—a consistent example for my kids and friends,” he mentioned.
Furthermore, Rossdale feels a deep concern about the pressures facing today’s youth. He perceives significant stress regarding education and future job prospects. “I see it through my kids,” he said. “There’s pressure about college, managing student loans, and finding jobs. It seems incredibly challenging, and I’m not sure if it’s getting any easier.”
The musician is grateful for having found his own path as the frontman for the band Bush and is gearing up to perform at the upcoming Stagecoach festival, where he hopes to bring “good energy.” He believes that engaging audiences with enthusiasm is key to a successful performance.
Stagecoach 2026 will take place from April 24 to April 26 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, with Rossdale performing on April 25.
