Government takes legal action against Minnesota for allowing men to compete in women’s sports

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is taking legal action against Minnesota for permitting boys to participate in girls’ sports and access women’s locker rooms.

On Monday, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced the lawsuit on X, emphasizing that the DOJ recognizes biological differences and aims to protect high school girls from what she describes as unfair treatment.

This lawsuit follows recent rulings from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in February and March that restrict transgender individuals from using restrooms that do not align with their birth sex.

“The Trump Administration does not tolerate misguided state policies that overlook biological facts and unjustly affect girls in sports,” Bondi stated in a press release. “This Department of Justice is committed to collaborating with HHS and the Department of Education to safeguard our girls in Minnesota and nationwide.”

Attorney General Bondi criticized Minnesota’s actions as not just unfair but also inappropriate and hazardous.

Bondi reiterated via a tweet that the DOJ’s stance reflects an acknowledgment of biological reality and they will not allow high school girls to endure this unfairness.
