Buffett shares he hasn't spoken to Gates since the Epstein situation emerged.

Warren Buffett disclosed on Tuesday that he hasn’t had a conversation with Bill Gates since the revelations about Jeffrey Epstein emerged, tying Gates to the late convicted sex offender in a scandal.

“I haven’t talked to him at all since everything came out,” Buffett shared with CNBC. He highlighted the recent release of extensive documents by the Justice Department regarding Epstein’s misdeeds.

Buffett, now 95 and known as the “Oracle of Omaha,” expressed that despite being a longtime friend of Gates, he felt there was no point in discussing matters until things are clearer, saying, “I don’t want to be sworn in.”

In light of the Epstein documents released earlier this year, Gates issued an apology for his connection to Epstein. He also acknowledged two relationships with Russian women during his marriage to Melinda French Gates but denied any misconduct.

Several high-profile figures have distanced themselves from Gates’ Giving Pledge, a charitable initiative aimed at donating a significant portion of his wealth, and he unexpectedly withdrew from an AI summit earlier this year amidst criticism.

Buffett remarked on Epstein’s extraordinary deceitfulness, stating, “It’s amazing how anyone could be so successful as a fraudster.” He reflected on the vulnerabilities Epstein exploited, suggesting a combination of greed and other weaknesses.

Buffett also noted his relief that Gates never brought Epstein to meet him in New York, expressing gratitude, “I asked him to thank me for not doing that. But you can’t escape what happened.”

Epstein, who faced serious legal issues, died by suicide in a Manhattan prison in 2019.
