Taryn Hatcher, once a sideline reporter for the Phillies, has made her way back to The CW after her departure from NBC Sports Philadelphia. She recently shared her excitement about joining the CW’s coverage of the Pro Bowlers Association.
In a chat about this new role, Hatcher described it as a “perfect opportunity.” She told interviewers that she was pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the experience turned out to be, crediting the team, which includes Rick Allen, a former NASCAR lead announcer, and Kyle Sherman, a former Pro Bowler.
As reported, she’ll take on the role of reporter during the CW broadcast on Sunday at 4 p.m., speaking with bowlers after their victories.
Previously, Hatcher covered the Illinois Classic held in Decatur, Illinois, where Anthony Simonsen secured a win earlier in the month.
The PBA season is set to run until April 26, coinciding with the PBA Tournament of Champions in Fair Lawn, Ohio.
Before her CW gig, Hatcher served as a sideline reporter for the Phillies and covered 76ers games while at NBC Sports Philadelphia. However, her contract was not renewed, and her position was eliminated after the 2025 season ended.
Some fans pointed out her absence from NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Spring Training Compensation Plan release. This led to some speculation about her situation.
According to Alexandra Matcham, NBCSP’s vice president of content, the network is revamping its storytelling method to attract a wider audience.
Hatcher previously shared via Instagram that although she received several job offers post-termination, her health took priority, prompting her to opt for short-term freelance gigs instead.
In her message, she reassured fans about her well-being, emphasizing the importance of her health and expressing gratitude for their concern.
A South Jersey native, Hatcher became part of NBCSP in 2018, initially as a rinkside reporter for the Flyers before transitioning to pregame and postgame shows and eventually securing a sideline position with the Phillies.
