NFL Coaches Gather for a Fun Day in Phoenix
On Tuesday, NFL head coaches had a memorable day, all thanks to Sean McVay.
According to insider Jay Glazer, 28 out of 32 head coaches attended a “Lunch Day” event during the league meeting held in Phoenix, a gathering that McVay initiated.
The event seemed lively, with a video Glazer shared showing coaches enjoying drinks and engaging in lighthearted discussions about life and football.
In the video, Glazer expressed his excitement, saying, “It’s one of my favorite days of the year! NFL Head Coaches Day of Drinking at the 18th Annual NFL Owners Meeting. I started this 18 years ago with Mike Tomlin. Yes, we raised a glass in his honor. It’s about the head coaching fraternity coming together, bouncing ideas off one another, and asking for advice… just celebrating life,” he said.
Glazer also mentioned that Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and MMA icon Mark Carr were among the attendees.
“Leaders tend to look after everyone else, but who looks after the leaders? This gathering fosters a sense of camaraderie. I mean, who doesn’t want to feel less isolated at the top? The stories shared were classic! 28 of the 32 coaches definitely made it a memorable event,” he noted, adding that McVay and his companions spiced things up. “And yes, I jokingly wonder if McVay knows what Venmo is when it comes time to settle the bill!”
In Glazer’s video, McVay could be seen holding a drink while listening to Sean Payton, looking considerably more relaxed than he did the day prior when he faced heavy questions about star player Puka Nacua.
