Mizanur Rahman Azhari Deported from Australia

Mizanur Rahman Azhari, a preacher from Bangladesh known for his anti-Semitic views and admiration for Adolf Hitler, was deported from Australia on Wednesday.

Azhari, who has called Jews “the world’s biggest terrorists” and was previously prohibited from entering the UK, had been given a visitor visa to give sermons across Australia, including cities like Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Canberra. However, that visa has now been revoked.

According to reports, Azhari was in the midst of a speaking tour titled “The Legacy of Faith” when Australian officials canceled his visa. He has reportedly garnered a following of around 10 million online.

In past sermons, Azhari has praised Hitler, referring to him as a “divine punishment” for Jews and making comments that describe Jews as a “toxic stain.” In a recent U.S. sermon, he espoused anti-Semitic conspiracy theories and encouraged his audience to cut ties with the Jewish community.

A local newspaper noted that officials in Australia first became aware of Azhari’s arrival earlier in the week, leading to the swift cancellation of his visa.

Senator Jonathan Duniam voiced concerns in Parliament, highlighting that community groups had warned about Azhari’s arrival. He criticized Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s government for allowing Azhari to enter the country, given his extremist history.

Duniam pointed out that Azhari had previously been denied boarding a flight to the UK due to accusations of spreading anti-Hindu hatred and faced scrutiny from Bangladeshi authorities for promoting extremist ideologies.

With the police instructed to keep an eye on his activities, it is clear that Azhari’s presence raised numerous red flags within the community.
