A recent robbery at a $20 million mansion in Massachusetts has sparked plenty of talk. One former FBI agent suggested that the information shared by the homeowner hints at an inside job. Bill Daly told FOX News Digital, “It sounds pretty clear that there was some inside information about this property, the house, and even certain valuables that were taken.” He also noted that unless the public had some knowledge about what was in the house, investigators would probably look into those who had direct access to the mansion.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning, with a neighbor notifying the police around 8:50 a.m. The lavish 27,000 square foot home sits on oceanfront property just northeast of Boston. Beverly Police later reported that an armed suspect entered the residence, assaulted the lone occupant, tied her up, and made off with multiple items, including a vehicle.
According to the homeowner, Thomas Swan III, the victim was his housekeeper. He expressed his anguish, saying, “What they did to my housekeeper was really horrible. She was held at gunpoint, sometimes by the hair, and ultimately tied up and left in the garage. She’s a really special person, and this has really traumatized her.” Reports indicate that the housekeeper was even pistol-whipped during the invasion.
Swan mentioned that the stolen items were “very tangible and valuable.” The robber drove off in a Porsche taken from the home but was later found by police in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Daly pointed out that the suspect’s method differed from typical high-value heists, noting, “It appears she abused the housekeeper, pistol-whipped her, and possibly dragged her by the hair.” He compared this situation to more sophisticated heists seen in places like the Louvre, where thieves tend to be more discreet and less violent. “It’s a lot more brazen, a little more borderline, a little more violent,” he added.
As the investigation continues, the Beverly Police Department and Massachusetts State Police are actively looking into the case.
