Gavin Rossdale Connects with Country Music Ahead of Stagecoach Performance
Gavin Rossdale recently shared an unexpected link to country music as he gears up for his appearance at the upcoming Stagecoach festival.
In a chat with Fox News Digital, Rossdale revealed that he lives with someone who has a strong affinity for country tunes, spending a lot of time listening to artists like Zach Bryan. “It’s amusing, really. I share space with a guy who prefers country music during our car rides. So, yeah, half the time we’re jamming to country. The other half? My son really likes yacht rock,” he explained. For those unfamiliar, yacht rock refers to the soft rock tracks from the late ’70s and early ’80s.
Rossdale has three sons—Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo—with ex-wife Gwen Stefani. Currently, he’s in a relationship with musician Shaughna Zenetti.
He continued, “I split my time when he’s DJing, whether he’s spinning yacht rock like the Doobie Brothers or country hits. Right now, I’m a fan of Zach Bryan. I think he’s really talented. Some of those songs resonate with me, especially the darker, more unique sounds.” Rossdale and his band, Bush, acknowledged that while they may not be well-versed in many country songs, they appreciate the Americana vibe Bryan brings to his music.
As Rossdale and the rest of Bush prepare for Stagecoach, he expressed confidence in performing at a country music festival, noting similarities between rock and country audiences. “Ultimately, playing well and having good energy is crucial. If you bring that vibe, people will likely respond positively,” he said.
At 60, Rossdale reflected on his long music career, noting that he had assumed his life would take a drastically different turn by 40. “It’s strange to think about. When I was younger, I honestly believed I wouldn’t make it past that age. The realization that I’m still here feels like an incredible bonus,” he shared. “Turning 40 felt like the end back then, but this journey has been amazing.” He likened his experience in music to a “crazy, crazy wife,” implying it’s a thrilling but sometimes daunting endeavor.
He added, “For me, it’s all about exploration. I keep pushing myself to grow and get better at what I do.” Rossdale feels fortunate to have such dedicated bandmates, emphasizing their talent and hard work.
Stagecoach 2026 is set to unfold at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, from April 24 to April 26. Bush is scheduled to perform on Saturday, April 25.
