Caitlin Ivey Challenges Jaden’s Claims Amid Controversy
Caitlin, the spouse of recently released NBA player Jaden Ivey, has pushed back against her husband’s accusations. He suggested they hadn’t communicated due to comments he made that were labeled “detrimental to the team.” These comments were reportedly anti-LGBTQ and anti-Catholic, which seemed to contribute to his sudden departure from the Bulls.
On her Instagram Story, Caitlin shared a family photo and remarked, “The only reason she wanted you was because you were in the NBA.” This came as a direct response to Jaden’s assertions during a livestream on March 31, where he claimed their communication had ceased. Caitlin countered, stating, “We were communicating all morning that day,” adding that he doesn’t even send her emails.
“People say things to get attention. Don’t be fooled,” she cautioned her followers.
Caitlin also revealed some of the harsh messages she has received from fans following Jaden’s statements, with remarks ranging from “Your life is a lie” to “You’re not my wife.” She expressed frustration, saying, “These DMs (and so many more) over just one lie gave my name a bad name.” She emphasized, “If you know me, you know that I never abandoned that man through all my trials…and still haven’t.” Clearly, there’s more going on, so perhaps it’s best to steer clear of conspiracies and speculation.
Both Jaden and Caitlin attended Purdue University and became engaged in 2022, although the exact date of their marriage remains unclear. They have three young children: Noah, 3, Shiloh, 2, and Isaiah, 1.
Their lives have recently been thrown into turmoil after Jaden made a series of controversial remarks, particularly against the NBA’s support of Pride Month, and referred to Catholicism as a “false religion.” In an Instagram video, he said, “The world can declare itself LGBTQ. They show it to the world… So why can’t people speak about justice?”
After being traded to the Bulls from the Pistons earlier this year, Jaden reacted to his release by calling the team “liars.” In a livestream, he claimed to have been ignored while watching Caitlin and expressed feelings of betrayal from his family, stating, “They say I’m losing my mind… These are my own family, my blood.” Despite Caitlin’s rebuttals, Jaden continues to share religious-themed selfies on social media, even appearing on a podcast.
On that podcast, he discussed his struggles, revealing that injuries throughout his career prompted suicidal thoughts, but he leaned on his faith for support. He recounted moments where he almost took drastic actions but was deterred by Caitlin’s words.
