Incident Involving Lindsey Buckingham
Former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, who is 76, reported a disturbing incident and has accused Michelle Dick of stalking him. Recently, he discussed the threats he faced after a confrontation outside an appointment in Santa Monica, California, although the police haven’t yet revealed any suspect details.
On Wednesday, it was reported that Buckingham was attacked by a woman, identified by authorities as a stalker, who allegedly threw an unknown substance at him. Thankfully, he did not sustain any injuries during the incident.
The Santa Monica Police Department has pinpointed a suspect but has not made any arrests or disclosed the individual’s identity. According to sources, the woman involved has been previously known to Buckingham and has been a subject of concern for the LAPD’s Threat Management Unit.
Interestingly, Dick claims to be his biological daughter. Reports indicate that she approached Buckingham recently and even attempted to visit his home in Brentwood the day before the incident.
In December 2024, Buckingham filed for a restraining order against her, expressing concern in his petition about her behavior potentially becoming dangerous for himself and his family.
The troubling interactions reportedly began in 2021. Dick allegedly obtained Buckingham’s wife’s work phone number, bombarding her with calls and messages, claiming kinship while also issuing threats against their lives.
Buckingham asserted that although he was granted a restraining order against her, the situation escalated again in 2024. Notably, Dick even taped a photo collage outside Buckingham’s home.
When approached by police, she bizarrely claimed that Buckingham had suffocated her as a child, making her statements seem even more concerning. Buckingham described the experience as frightening and unpredictable, adding that the detective handling the case deemed Dick mentally unstable and dangerous.
A judge has instructed that Dick must stay at least 100 yards away from Buckingham and his family, prohibiting any contact. In the wake of the incident, both the LAPD and Santa Monica Police Department are collaborating on an investigation.
While it’s been a stressful situation for Buckingham, he continues his work and maintains his family life. He has been married to Kristen Messner since 2000, and they share three children. Buckingham gained fame originally in the 1970s and has since built a successful solo career apart from Fleetwood Mac, solidifying his reputation in the rock industry.
