During a recent Edmonton Oilers game against the Las Vegas Golden Knights at Rogers Place, a fan unexpectedly went into labor and gave birth inside the arena. This surprising event was announced by Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels when Sportsnet resumed broadcasting for the third period.

“Breaking news, we have word that someone went into labor here tonight,” Michaels shared. “As we speak, there’s a baby being born on the seventh floor of Rogers Place. So, someone’s going to have quite a story to tell! I’d love to have them on ‘After Hours’ to share their experience, but that might be a stretch.” It’s unclear at this point what the baby’s name will be, though there’s some lighthearted speculation about Edward or something similar if it’s a boy.

In a different note, the Oilers faced the Golden Knights and lost 5-1. Notable performances included goals and assists from Brett Howden and Jeremy Lauzon, with contributions from Colton Sissons, Mark Stone, and Rasmus Andersson as well.
