Metallica is branching out beyond the Sphere this year.
Recently, the iconic band—comprised of James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo—announced they’ll perform two nights at the 10,000-seat Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, this November, marking their 25th anniversary.
This will be their first concert in Connecticut since July 1998, when they headlined Hartford’s Meadows Music Theater during the Poor Re-Touring Me Tour. It’s kind of wild to think they’re back after all these years.

As usual with Metallica, the two shows will be completely different. Since 2023, they’ve adopted a “No Repeat Weekend” format, presenting two unique concerts to give fans a chance to experience both their classic hits and deep cuts without any overlap.
While it’s anyone’s guess what setlist they’ll bring to Mohegan Sun, typically, you might hear rock anthems like “Master of Puppets,” “Seek and Destroy,” and “Nothing Else Matters.” They usually save favorites like “Enter Sandman” and “One” for special occasions.
Reflecting on the energy of such massive shows, a fan shared how memorable it was to see Metallica pack over 50,000 attendees into their recent performances, stating, “I just want more.” Reports from their opening weekends of the M72 World Tour in April 2023 highlight that sentiment.
In addition to their stop in Uncasville, Metallica is set to headline the Sphere as part of their “Life Burns Faster” residency from October 2026 to March 2027.
Tickets for the Connecticut concerts will go on sale to the public on Friday, April 10, at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster, but they are also available on secondary market platforms like StubHub and Vivid Seats.
