CM Punk Confronts Pat McAfee on WWE’s Monday Night Raw

During the opening segment of “Monday Night Raw,” WWE star CM Punk had some pointed remarks for ESPN broadcaster Pat McAfee following their recent feud connected to WrestleMania 42.

McAfee, who had teamed up with Randy Orton to face Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, made a surprise appearance on SmackDown. His late entry into the rivalry did not sit well with some pro wrestling fans online, who voiced their displeasure.

Punk took this opportunity to express his frustrations with the current state of the wrestling business, suggesting that it needs to return to the excitement of the Attitude Era. He criticized the internet wrestling community, labeling them as “dips,” while also noting that he and others like him were being overlooked.

Interestingly, McAfee also mentioned his bewilderment over the fact that tickets for WrestleMania were still available, which seemed to strike a nerve with Punk.

Punk, who is currently embroiled in a rivalry with Roman Reigns and will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against him at WrestleMania 42, spent the initial part of Raw talking about Reigns before turning his attention to McAfee.

In a particularly pointed moment, Punk chastised McAfee for a slip-up where he mistakenly called him “Pat McGuffee,” referencing a comment made during a previous broadcast involving former President Donald Trump. Punk did not hold back when addressing McAfee’s agent, Ari Emanuel, who is also the CEO of WWE’s parent company.

Punk stated, “You think you’re going to come here for your job, your job, your wrestling, and let your mouth slip. Well, you just wrote a check that you can’t pay. If you, who make a living kicking footballs, were to come to my office and discuss ticket sales, I’d really love it. You’d get a receipt.”

WrestleMania 42 is scheduled for April 18th and 19th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Both Punk and Reigns are confirmed to compete during the event, with Rhodes facing Orton as well. The matchups are expected to be significant highlights of the show.
