Dallas Stars Exclude Fan Reportedly Tied to Nazi Salute

Dallas Stars Ban Fan for Alleged Nazi Salutes

The Dallas Stars have indefinitely banned a fan implicated in purchasing tickets for multiple seats where individuals were shown making what looked like Nazi salutes during a recent match.

This decision came after an investigation centered around the American Airlines Center. At least four attendees were captured on video during a December 21 game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, raising their right arms in what appeared to be a Nazi salute. Although the 12-second clip didn’t gain traction on social media until last week, it sparked significant concern.

The Stars issued a statement confirming that they had identified and interviewed the individual who bought the tickets, resulting in their indefinite suspension from the arena. They also mentioned plans to enhance staff training to better recognize and address similar incidents, while improving messaging about the fan code of conduct and reporting mechanisms.

The Stars emphasized that any form of discriminatory or hateful behavior is unacceptable and doesn’t belong in their venue. They aim to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.

In light of the video going viral, the American Airlines Center reiterated its stance against any acts of hatred or discrimination, with the Dallas Stars standing firm behind this message.

This incident reportedly violates the NHL fan code of conduct, which advocates for “respect, inclusion, safety, and empowerment.”

The code specifically highlights that any expressions—whether verbal, gestures, or actions—that demean a particular race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other identity traits are “not acceptable.”

The NHL also stated that individuals found engaging in behavior that contradicts the league’s values could face a range of penalties. These repercussions may include seat relocation, ejection from events, suspension, or even a lifetime ban from future NHL activities.
