MTG Calls for 25th Amendment as Election to Succeed Her Starts

Divided Opinions in Georgia’s 14th District

Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia intensified her disagreement with former President Donald Trump by urging him to use the 25th Amendment, as voters in her district prepare for a special election to choose her successor before she exits Congress in January.

On Truth Social, Trump warned that Iran’s “entire civilization will perish tonight” unless something significant takes place, following what he termed a complete regime change. He suggested that 47 years of “extortion, corruption, and death” would be coming to an end, expressing that the world would witness this dramatic shift shortly.

In a post on social media, Greene referred to the 25th Amendment, stating, “Not a single bomb was dropped on America. You can’t kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness.”

According to explanations regarding Section 4 of the 25th Amendment, it allows the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet to declare that the President is unable to fulfill their duties, transferring those powers temporarily.

Greene was succeeded in February by Clay Fuller, who serves as the district attorney for Lookout Mountain and also holds a military position. Trump has characterized Fuller as “America’s first patriot,” expressing confidence that he would support his policies in Congress.

On the eve of the special election, Trump encouraged Republicans in Georgia’s 14th District to vote for Fuller, emphasizing the importance of the election and urging all supporters to show up and make their voices heard.

Greene’s upcoming departure has opened up this special election to fill her seat. Alex Marlowe, the Editor-in-Chief at Breitbart, described her exit as “extremely self-serving,” noting it could reduce Republican representation in the House.

Since her resignation, Greene has increasingly critiqued Trump’s military decisions, especially regarding Iran. She articulated concerns that Trump’s actions do not align with the campaign promises of putting “America first,” asserting that the focus should have been on domestic issues, not foreign engagements.

Greene labeled Trump’s actions a “100% betrayal” of voter expectations for the 2024 election, arguing that the administration’s foreign policy has strayed from its core promises.

Opposing foreign interference, Greene has expressed solidarity with organizations like CODEPINK. After a visit from its co-founder, Medea Benjamin, who recognized her as an anti-war advocate, Greene reiterated her opposition to military funding abroad and acknowledged a long-term friendship with Benjamin.

Trump’s sentiments towards Greene have soured, deeming her departure as “great news for the country” and expressing his disapproval of her actions, labeling her with derogatory nicknames and questioning her intelligence.
