Bruce Springsteen, the veteran rocker, didn’t hold back on the opening night of his Los Angeles tour leg as he took aim at President Donald Trump yet again. His eruption of emotion lasted nearly two minutes, leaving him physically charged yet breathless. It’s quite telling of Springsteen’s deep-seated disdain, even in his 70s, for the man in the Oval Office.
In a clip shared by a news outlet, Springsteen relayed his diminishing faith in the country that propelled him to fame.
He expressed frustration, stating, “The America I’ve written about for half a century—once a symbol of hope and freedom—is now under the grip of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, and reckless regime.”
Springsteen has consistently vocalized his opposition to Trump.
Earlier this year, he remarked that the tour aimed “to protect America,” emphasizing that the nation was “under siege from a man who wants to be our king and his vile administration.”
“We exist in dark, unsettling, and perilous times,” the “Dancing in the Dark” artist mentioned in a promotional video for his upcoming “Land of Hopes and Dreams” tour across the U.S.
“But don’t lose hope. Calvary will come,” the 76-year-old added. He announced that he and the E Street Band would hit the road this spring, spanning venues from Minneapolis to California, Texas, and Washington, D.C.
“We rock your cities to honor America, American democracy, American freedom, and the sacred American dream. All these are threatened by our would-be king and his errant government in D.C.,” he declared.
Recently, he performed at an anti-Trump “No Kings” rally in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Shortly after, Springsteen reiterated his anti-Trump and anti-ICE sentiments in an interview, asserting he wasn’t worried about losing fans. “The backlash comes with the territory,” he remarked. “I’m prepared for all of that.”
“We’re on the verge of that moment,” Springsteen said when asked about participating in the “No Kings” rally.
“The No Kings movement holds significant importance right now,” he stated. “If you have a chance to sing something timely and impactful, it elevates the moment and your work. I’m always seeking that.”
Springsteen, who backed Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election, labeled Trump an “unfit leader” overseeing a “rogue government.”
In response, President Trump called Springsteen a “highly overrated” individual, mocking him for making critical comments abroad about the U.S. president.
