Masters Par 3 Contest Highlights Family Moments
The Masters Par 3 Contest gives golfers a chance to create cherished memories with family and friends right before the competitive action kicks off with Thursday’s opening round.
Scotty Scheffler enjoyed this unique event at Augusta National Golf Club alongside his family, which now includes his newborn son. His wife, Meredith, was seen securing their 12-day-old son, Remy, in a baby carrier, while their two-year-old, Bennett, was having fun with his dad.
Remy, born on March 27, adds a joyful layer to Scheffler’s life as he prepares for the tournament. “It was really amazing and fun,” he shared, reflecting on Remy’s birth during an interview. He also mentioned how nice it was for his family to join him, considering his wife’s military background.
Scheffler’s parents also made an appearance at the practice round, eagerly supporting their son, who is aiming for his third Green Jacket this week.
Watching Bennett play around the par-3 course with a little blue club brought a smile to Scheffler’s face. It’s those light moments, just before the stakes rise, that many golfers cherish—whether they’re current competitors or former champions.
Notably, Jordan Spieth and Tommy Fleetwood seized the opportunity for a potential hole-in-one that afternoon, adding to the day’s excitement.
Family remains a central focus for Scheffler, despite having returned to the course so soon after Remy’s birth. He even missed a recent tournament to be present for the big moment in his family’s life.
Now that his family is with him in Augusta, Scheffler is set to tackle the challenging Augusta National course, hoping to secure another victory. Last year, he finished fourth, not far behind Rory McIlroy, who made history with a playoff win.
