Cameron Diaz Discusses Home Etiquette on The Drew Barrymore Show

Cameron Diaz is quite particular about home etiquette. During her appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, she expressed her strong dislike for guests bringing dirt from the streets of New York City into her home.

When asked to share her “biggest misdeed,” she paused before admitting, “The shoes I picked up on the streets of New York City.” Barrymore quickly chimed in, saying, “You can’t do that,” and lightheartedly added that to enter Diaz’s house, guests might as well don a “body condom.”

Diaz jokingly emphasized her point: “You have to change your clothes to come to my house in New York.” To which Barrymore replied that it’s a good measure to keep germs at bay.

Continuing with the humor, Diaz quipped, “Oh, I’m rolling on the floor,” with a laugh, before asking if Barrymore was alright.

On the show, Diaz promoted her role in the new film Outcome, where she stars alongside Keanu Reeves, Jonah Hill, and Matt Bomer. This marks a return to acting for the 53-year-old since her last film, Back in Action, released in 2025 and featuring Jamie Foxx.

Reflecting on her decade-long hiatus from acting, Diaz explained her previous decision to leave Hollywood. She had focused on building a life with her husband, Benji Madden, after quitting acting in 2014. Despite her return, she remains firm in her views about not wanting to return to the Hollywood hustle.

Diaz revealed, “I never thought I’d make another movie,” noting how content she was in her life away from the camera. She later received a call from Jamie Foxx, inviting her to a fun action-comedy project, which she found hard to resist.

“If there’s anyone I’d want to go back and spend time with on set, it would be Jamie,” she remarked, reminiscing about the fun during filming.

Ultimately, Diaz feels strongly about prioritizing what matters to her. “No one’s opinion, no one’s success, no one’s offer can change my mind about my decision to value myself and build the life I truly want,” she concluded, reflecting on her journey and the importance of family.
