Claims Against Eric Swalwell

A young woman recently spoke out, alleging that disgraced Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell made attempts to entice her into his hotel room after sending explicit messages on Snapchat. She noted that, looking back, she feels incredibly lucky to have avoided what could have been a disastrous situation, and admitted that the experience deeply unsettled her.

Annika Albrecht, speaking for the first time, described how she initially encountered Swalwell on a college trip. He seemed friendly and professional at first, pretending to offer guidance, but soon he requested her Snapchat handle.

According to Albrecht, the nature of his messages swiftly became “sexually inappropriate,” culminating in an invitation to meet him at a hotel. “I keep thinking about how fortunate I was not to go to that hotel,” she reflected, adding that she stopped responding to him soon after realizing the implications of his messages.

In a separate incident, another woman has accused Swalwell of sexual assault, claiming that in 2024, after becoming intoxicated during a charity gala, she woke up in her hotel room to find him assaulting her. “I was saying no and pushing him away,” she stated, recalling that he did not stop despite her protests.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is currently investigating these serious allegations. In light of this, Swalwell resigned from Congress on Monday amidst these claims and discussions about a meeting with him after he stepped back from the California gubernatorial race.

Albrecht expressed her belief that justice will not truly be served until Swalwell is held accountable for his actions and prevented from harming others. “He needs to face retribution for the women he has harmed,” she emphasized.
