A boy with a blue face has caught attention recently. A police officer in Cincinnati attempted to apprehend a stubborn bicyclist, but the pursuit turned into a viral moment, now viewed over 10 million times online.
This video, captured earlier this month, shows the officer veering his car and, in an attempt to grab the cyclist, putting him in a headlock. However, the young man managed to use the officer’s weight against him, pushing him down easily.
While the officer tried to regain his footing, the cyclist hopped onto an abandoned bike and took off. Even though the officer appeared exhausted, he still tried to pull the rear tire, which resulted in the cyclist losing balance and falling.
The young rider easily outpaced the stockier officer, who struggled throughout the minute-long chase. At one point, the cyclist even circled the officer, almost teasing him as he drew further away.
Efforts to deter the cyclist with pepper spray seemed fruitless, as he simply continued on his way, leaving the clearly winded officer behind. The video later shows the man speeding away as the officer, gasping, remained behind next to his patrol car.
This footage gained traction across various social media platforms, with one particular Instagram post racking up over 10 million views. Comments varied, with one viewer suggesting, “Please retire that poor police officer,” while another remarked, “Even a 10-year-old girl might be able to run away from this so-called cop!”
A commenter even speculated, “Are you both drunk?”
It’s still unclear what, if anything, the cyclist was initially stopped for, or if he has faced any charges. Attempts to get more details from the Cincinnati police regarding the incident have been made.
