Procession of the Living at Auschwitz

On Tuesday, leaders from law enforcement took part in the 2026 International March for the Living at Auschwitz-Birkenau. Delegates from various countries joined thousands of participants to honor the victims of the Holocaust and to renew their commitment to combatting contemporary hatred.

High-ranking police officials worldwide convened at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial in Poland. Their goal was to align on a global strategy to address the rise of anti-Semitism and hate crimes. There was a clear pledge to visit historical sites related to the Holocaust to prevent the repetition of such atrocities through proactive measures and sharing of information.

International police members toured Auschwitz, commemorating the significance of remembering the past.

Comedian Jessica Carson highlighted the disturbing trend of open anti-Semitism following a heckler’s slur during her performance. She expressed concern over a national shift where bigots seem emboldened, no longer feeling the need to conceal their prejudices. This incident illustrates a troubling increase in direct confrontations against Jewish public figures.

Meanwhile, Mahmoud Khalil, connected to anti-Israel activism, is facing impending deportation after losing a legal battle to remain in the U.S. This decision reflects a broader effort by lawmakers to hold foreign nationals accountable for participating in unauthorized protests and visa violations.

Amid these discussions, Judy Gold remarked on the new reality where anti-Semites feel free to express their views without shame, a sentiment echoed after her own experience with hecklers in her comedy set.

I suppose it’s a reminder of just how far we have to go in fighting against hate and prejudice. It’s complicated, really. Some days feel hopeful, while others seem daunting. There’s a lot to unpack with these challenges, and it’s clear that more awareness and action are needed.
