Trump Criticizes Swalwell Amid Sexual Misconduct Allegations

President Trump has commented on the sexual misconduct allegations surrounding former congressman Eric Swalwell, calling him “despicable.” He stated, “He’s got a lot of experience and he’s a bad guy. I don’t know anything about the charges, but he’s a bad guy.”

This comes after five women accused Swalwell of sexual assault, rape, and other inappropriate actions. Trump acknowledged the gravity of the situation, saying, “We’ll see what happens.” He portrayed Swalwell as a corrupt politician, emphasizing the ongoing scrutiny he faces.

Recently, a new alleged victim, Rona Drews, described a horrifying incident from 2018 where she claims Swalwell drugged and assaulted her in a hotel room. In a tearful account, Drews expressed her belief that they were friends while he allegedly sabotaged her efforts to advance her fashion software company.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is now looking into Drews’ claims, which she supported with various pieces of evidence, including texts and diary entries.

Following the emergence of these disturbing allegations, Swalwell suspended his campaign for governor of California and resigned from Congress. He has denied all accusations, despite the mounting evidence against him.

Currently, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is conducting a separate criminal investigation into other sexual assault allegations made by a former employee. Since the controversy erupted, Swalwell has largely stepped out of the public eye.
