Singer D4vd Arrested in Connection with Teen’s Murder
On Thursday, Los Angeles police detained singer D4vd, suspecting him in the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
In September 2025, Hernandez’s dismembered and decayed body was discovered in a Tesla that had been confiscated. Her family had reported her missing in April 2024, mentioning a boyfriend named David. D4vd, whose full name is David Anthony Burke, is rumored to be that boyfriend, although the relationship hasn’t been confirmed. At the time of the grim discovery, D4vd was reportedly on tour.
A source familiar with the situation informed TMZ that D4vd was arrested at his temporary residence in LA and is currently being held without bail. Footage showing his arrest depicted heavily armed police surrounding the area.
The LA County District Attorney acknowledged D4vd’s arrest, stating to TMZ, “The case will be presented to the Major Crimes Unit. Prosecutors will then assess the evidence to see if there are grounds for charges.”
Additional comments from the prosecutor included that more information would be available soon, with an update expected by Monday regarding potential charges.
D4vd was previously identified as a “target” in a grand jury inquiry back in February. Following testimonies from various individuals close to him, including his daily manager and a friend, his arrest took place.
In response, D4vd’s legal team criticized the arrest, asserting that the evidence would ultimately show he did not commit the crime. They remarked, “David is only being held on suspicion. We will vigorously defend his innocence.” They also pointed out that no indictment has yet been filed against him.
Interestingly, both Hernandez and D4vd share a tattoo on their right index fingers, featuring the word “Shh…”
