The rivalry for Pennsylvania pride is back on.
This marks the eighth time the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers will meet in the NHL playoffs.
This time, Sidney Crosby’s seasoned team enjoys home-ice advantage against Travis Konecny’s younger squad. The Penguins wrapped up the 2025-26 season with a solid 41-25-16 record, securing second place in the Metropolitan Division, while the Flyers finished at 43-27-12.
PPG Paints Arena will host two confirmed games, with two potential matchups, on these dates:
1st game
Saturday, April 18th
8pm
2nd match
Monday, April 20th
7pm
5th game
Monday, April 27th
to be decided
Game 7
Saturday, May 2nd
to be decided
If you’re looking to catch the action live, tickets for all four games in Pittsburgh are up for grabs starting today.
As of now, the lowest price for a seat to the first game in Pittsburgh is around $224, fees included, on StubHub.
In Philadelphia, prices start at approximately $243, also inclusive of fees.
It’s definitely pricey, but it feels worth it to watch a longtime rival in postseason action, especially after they just split their last four regular-season games evenly. Plus, both teams have had longer playoff absences; Pittsburgh last made it in 2022, while Philadelphia hasn’t since 2020.
“It couldn’t have been better,” remarked Flyers winger Owen Tippett. “It’s going to be a Pennsylvania showdown, and it will be a good one. We’re all pretty excited.”
He’s absolutely right. Many analysts are struggling to predict a clear winner in this closely matched series, though USA Today gives the edge to the Penguins, forecasting they’ll take the series in six games.
What’s clear is that this “Legends vs. Kids” series is poised to be thrilling.
