LaVar Ball’s Bold NBA Opinions Resurface

Just in case you needed a reminder, LaVar Ball, the famously outspoken father of NBA players, is still very much in the picture.

He’s been vocal about his belief that NBA teams should sign all of his sons to achieve greater success. This latest outburst came after LaMelo Ball’s Charlotte Hornets endured a tough playoff loss to the Magic.

LaVar didn’t hold back. He suggested that for next season, the team should bring on his other two sons and replace head coach Charles Lee due to LaMelo’s underwhelming performance.

“If you want to go to the playoffs, it’s better to have three balls than one,” Ball declared in a video. He also mentioned that LiAngelo, who had retired in 2025 to focus on a music career, would need to be part of the Charlotte roster. “I’m trying to explain: If you want to go far, you need all the Ball boys. Their chemistry and speed are unmatched,” he added.

He also shared some advice for Coach Lee.

“You really need to be a good coach to handle Melo,” he noted, referring to his son who received a fine for dirty play against Miami’s Bam Adebayo in a prior game. “He’s a killer,” LaVar continued. “When dealing with a hitman, you leave them in until they’re completely drained. They’re still in it to win, even if it’s a tough game.” He emphasized the importance of vision and risk-taking in the pursuit of championship glory.

Ball insisted that even in a tough situation, a coach shouldn’t give up on their star player too early. “You have to believe in your players,” he asserted. “That coach pulled him too soon for my liking. I’m telling you, there’s a formula for those big guys to become champions. But if the top executives don’t start making moves to get all the Ball boys together, well, they should buckle up and play to their strengths.”
