WrestleMania 42 Highlights
Las Vegas – Oba Femi faced off against Brock Lesnar in a match that marked Femi’s debut at WrestleMania 42 on Sunday night. It was, as fans expected, quite the spectacle—a “Showcase of the Immortals.”
Weeks ago, Femi accepted an open challenge to go up against Lesnar at Allegiant Stadium. Their encounters leading up to the match had been intense, setting the stage for what many viewers anticipated to be a thrilling showdown.
As “The Ruler” entered the ring, the crowd erupted with chants of “Oba.” Lesnar, a force since his WWE debut in 2002, returned for his first WrestleMania match since WrestleMania 39 and was met with enthusiastic applause.
Locking eyes with Femi, Lesnar adopted a fierce stance. The two wrestlers exchanged blows to see who would seize the early advantage. Femi managed to clothesline Lesnar out of the ring, prompting Lesnar to retaliate by dragging him outside and targeting his back. The match escalated when Lesnar executed three German suplexes, seemingly gaining the upper hand.
However, as Femi sought to regain momentum, a running uppercut transitioned into an F5 for Lesnar—but he didn’t capitalize on it. Instead, Femi rose to deliver a chokeslam to Lesnar.
This surprising move caught Lesnar off guard. In a dramatic turn, Femi executed a fall from grace and pinned Lesnar, achieving an astounding victory.
Femi soaked in the cheers of the crowd while Lesnar remained in the ring. Moments later, he sat down, removed his gloves and boots, and announced his retirement from professional wrestling. The arena resonated with chants of “Thank you, Brock!”
Lesnar embraced Paul Heyman, visibly emotional, as he waved to the packed audience.
If this indeed marks the end of Lesnar’s WWE career, he would retire as a 10-time WWE Champion and two-time Royal Rumble winner. His legacy also includes giving Femi a significant push to stardom within the company.
