NRCC announces historic first quarter fundraising total of $47 million

Republicans Surge in Fundraising Ahead of Midterm Elections

Midterm elections often pose challenges for the leading parties, but Republicans are making strides to defy this pattern. They reported fundraising totals of $47.1 million for the first quarter of the year, with an impressive $28.1 million raised in March alone.

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is expected to announce its strongest first-quarter fundraising results ever, according to initial data shared by Fox News Digital. This indicates renewed financial strength for House Republicans as they aim to safeguard their slim majority in a political environment that frequently leaves them on the outside looking in.

“This historic funding quarter shows that House Republicans have incredible support for our policies aimed at reducing costs and keeping Americans safe,” said NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson. “House Republicans are united, actively defending our majority, and building the financial resources necessary to confront the extreme Democratic agenda directly.”

NRCC officials view these figures as part of a larger trend that has been evident throughout the election cycle. They’ve noted that Republican incumbents and their allies are pulling in stronger early fundraising numbers, which seems to shrink and even reverse the traditional financial edge Democrats usually enjoy.

The NRCC claims it has outpaced the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) for five straight quarters, marking a significant shift in a long-established norm where minority parties typically raised less. This marks a trend reversal for the first time in decades in the early stages of the 2025 election cycle.

  • Patriots in swing districts collected an average of $1.2 million and currently hold $3.5 million.
  • DCCC frontliners managed to raise $919,000 with $2.4 million on hand.

“Vulnerable House Democrats are being held accountable, often outnumbered,” NRCC spokesman Mike Marinella observed. “Republicans are gaining both momentum and financial resources.”

Furthermore, the Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF), backed by House Speaker Mike Johnson, along with the nonprofit American Action Network (AAN), have collectively raised $192.6 million thus far in the 2025-2026 cycle. Together, they reported $56.6 million for the first quarter of 2026, claiming this is a record for the first quarter of a non-election year. The CLF alone is expected to raise another $38.1 million and maintain $91.4 million in cash reserves.

  • Johnson himself raised $34 million in the first quarter, totaling over $116 million for the cycle.
  • House Minority Leader Steve Scalise raised more than $10.1 million this quarter, bringing his total to over $45.6 million.
  • House Majority Whip Tom Emmer raised $9.2 million, totaling over $38 million in the cycle.

The NRCC also highlighted that MAGA entered 2026 with more than $300 million in cash, indicating a robust fundraising network that ties back to former President Donald Trump.

“This remarkable momentum reflects a sustained trend we’ve seen in this cycle, and it appears to be accelerating,” Marinella stated. “In financial campaigns where Democrats historically held an advantage, Republicans have consistently outperformed them.”

“This marks a fundamental change from the usual dynamics where Democrats establish financial leads early on, placing Republicans on the defensive,” he added. “The tables have turned.”

Insider sources indicated that various recent developments contributed to unprecedented financial backing, including Trump’s Middle East peace agreements and successful military operations in Venezuela and Iran.

On the other hand, Democrats have faced their own fundraising challenges, particularly following investigations into their significant fundraising platform, ActBlue, and recent efforts related to government funding issues.

Interestingly, the NRCC’s significant fundraising achievements coincided with traffic chaos during spring break, where long waits at airports were attributed to unpaid TSA agents not showing up for work.
