Sen. Mark Warner Announces Daughter’s Passing
Senator Mark Warner from Virginia has shared the tragic news of his daughter Madison’s death at the age of 36. She had been facing a long struggle with juvenile diabetes and various other health challenges.
In a joint statement with his wife, Lisa Collis, Warner expressed their profound sorrow: “We are heartbroken beyond words to announce the passing of our beloved daughter Madison, 36, after a decades-long battle with juvenile diabetes and other health issues. She filled our lives with love and laughter, and her absence leaves an immeasurable void.”
They also extended gratitude to their friends and family, requesting privacy as they cope with this significant loss.
Madison was the oldest of Warner and Collis’s three daughters and is survived by her sisters, Jillian and Eliza.
Numerous lawmakers from various parties have offered their condolences following the announcement. Representative Nancy Mace from South Carolina conveyed her sympathies on social media, stating, “My heart goes out to you. I pray that your family may rest in peace.” Similarly, Senator Mike Lee from Utah reminded others to keep the Warner family in their thoughts, labeling the news as heartbreaking.
Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky also expressed his wishes for the family during this tough time.
Virginia’s Democratic Governor Abigail Spanberger noted that “the entire Virginia delegation stands with Mark and Lisa during this time of deep grief.” Former Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin shared that he and his wife, Suzanne, were praying for the Warner family, acknowledging the difficulty of the day for them.
