Trey Jemison III, a center for the Knicks, and his fiancée Alex Gene Glover are quite the couple in the sports world.
In a recent TikTok video, Glover, who works as a broadcaster for volleyball, shared that she won’t be attending the Knicks’ playoff games against the Atlanta Hawks because “my mom has to work.”
She mentioned her mixed feelings, saying, “I can’t believe I’m missing a playoff game. Working in sports is such a blessing, but it complicates things since my fiancé is in the NBA.” Glover, who previously played Division I volleyball at SMU, made this comment in a video right before the Knicks won 113-102 in Game 1 at Madison Square Garden.
She explained that her volleyball work was pre-scheduled and coincidentally fell during the playoffs.
“It raises the question, ‘Why would you agree to that knowing it’s playoff time?’” she reflected. “But if I turned down every opportunity just because of sports, I wouldn’t be able to do my job.”
Glover noted that Jemison has recently played with the Westchester Knicks and missed the 2025 Emirates NBA Cup, where the Knicks triumphed over the Spurs in December.
“Trey knew he had a busy life before he started dating me,” she remarked. “But that doesn’t mean it’s always simple.”
Still, she expressed contentment. “I love my job, and it allows me to travel and spend time with Trey, which sometimes gives me more time with him than a regular 9-5 would.”
Glover mentioned that people often inquire about her work ethic.
“I work because I want to. It’s fine if you choose not to,” she said. “There’s a glamorization of the stay-at-home lifestyle, but managing a household around someone else’s schedule—especially with kids—is tough. It’s more complicated than it appears on the outside.”
“Thanks to all my friends and partners who support these guys; let’s enjoy the playoff season together. Go Knicks!”
Glover and Jemison got engaged last August, and she previously shared that they first connected in the fall of 2024 on social media.
Glover, a 2023 graduate of SMU, had an impressive college volleyball career, accumulating 92 set plays, 80 kills, and ranking high in blocks and games played.
She plans to keep up with the Knicks while on the road for her job, adding, “Mom has to work, but that doesn’t mean I can’t keep up with my SATs while I’m balancing things.”
Game 2 of the Knicks-Hawks series is set for Monday night at Madison Square Garden.
