Red Lobster Reintroduces “Endless Shrimp” Promotion
Red Lobster is set to revive its popular “Endless Shrimp” promotion starting this Monday, which is quite a pleasant surprise for fans of the restaurant’s all-you-can-eat offerings.
This limited-time deal will be available at select locations. A Red Lobster outlet informed FOX Business that the new pricing will be $24.99 per person. This is an increase from the $20 that was recently on the menu earlier in 2024. Some other locations may price the promotion at $29.99, which is something to keep in mind.
Customers can expect five different shrimp options, including a new addition inspired by internet trends, the “Marry Me Shrimp.”
- Marry Me Shrimp: Shrimp in a tomato cream sauce, finished with a garlic and herb crumble.
- Shrimp Linguini Alfredo: Shrimp served with Alfredo sauce and linguini.
- Walt’s Favorite Shrimp: Hand-breaded, lightly fried butterfly shrimp accompanied by cocktail sauce.
- Garlic Shrimp Scampi: Shrimp sautéed in a garlic lemon butter sauce.
- Parrot Isle Coconut Shrimp: Jumbo coconut shrimp served with a homemade piña colada sauce.
The “Endless Shrimp” deal was removed in 2024 after contributing to significant financial losses for the company, which led to the closing of 130 locations as they prepared for bankruptcy.
Interestingly, the company had previously stated that it wasn’t planning to bring this promotion back. However, due to strong customer interest and renewed engagement, Red Lobster has decided to rethink the long-standing “tradition,” which has been around for over 20 years. This announcement was made on Monday.
After experiencing thousands of social media mentions since the promotion’s last appearance, Red Lobster has recognized the demand and now aims to offer a beloved experience, albeit temporarily.
The last time “Endless Shrimp” was available it was a permanent menu item priced at $20, following more than two decades of on-and-off offerings. It gained a reputation as a marketing success, yet the demand ultimately led to rising costs that financially burdened the chain.
This promotion reportedly accounted for $11 million of Red Lobster’s $76 million net loss in 2023, per Reuters.
When CEO Damola Adamolekun took charge at the end of 2024 to help pull the chain out of bankruptcy, he initially dismissed the idea of reintroducing the promotion, jokingly highlighting his knowledge of math.
Now, it appears the company is open to a change in perspective. Adamolekun commented recently that they intend to focus on sought-after products.
“This is about putting the guest first and bringing back something they really love,” he mentioned. He added, “Endless Shrimp has been part of Red Lobster’s tradition for 20 years, and our guests have never stopped asking for it. We’re excited to bring it back for a limited time in a way that serves our business today and honors what made it special from the beginning. When our fans speak, we listen.”
