Sabres Make Postseason Comeback
The Sabres were expected to make quite a splash in Buffalo, marking their first playoff appearance since President Barack Obama’s first term. They brought in some heavy hitters for Game 2 against the Boston Bruins.
Did someone nudge Josh Allen to get the team hyped with some drinks? Because that’s how it felt.
With their fans buzzing, the Sabres stepped into the playoffs as the top seed in the Atlantic Division. In Game 1, they managed a thrilling comeback against the Bruins.
To kick off Game 2, the team thought bringing in a Buffalo Bills quarterback to bang a big drum would pump everyone up. But then again, it was really cold that day.
And speaking of surprises, why didn’t they wear that “goat head” sweater? It’s a little surprising, especially since we’ve seen teams like Dallas and Pittsburgh struggle against their second-stringers in their home playoff openers.
There’s just something about those sweaters. I mean, you can see Allen making a bit of a scene, seemingly knocking back a drink.
He definitely brought good energy, though one can’t help but think that if he weren’t so occupied on Sundays, he might have joined the crazies leaping over tables or dousing others in condiments.
It’s great to see Buffalo thriving right now. There’s a part of me that thinks it’s a shame they’ve been away from the playoffs for so long, but maybe that’s just how it goes—long waits filled with anticipation.
This series against Boston is bound to be intense, and honestly, I wouldn’t mind seeing what unfolds if the Sabres move on to the next round.
