Dave Mason, the co-founder of the British rock band Traffic, has passed away at the age of 79.

A statement shared on social media expressed deep sadness over his death. It detailed that on April 19, after enjoying a lovely dinner with his wife Winifred, he took a nap with their dog Star by his side.

He reportedly passed away peacefully in his chair, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Carson Valley, a place he cherished. Some would call it a storybook ending, reflective of how he lived his life. His impact on the music world and the hearts of fans will be remembered fondly.

A representative for Mason confirmed the news, stating, “On behalf of our family, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dave Mason. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee left us peacefully at his home in Gardnerville, Nevada.”

The statement characterized Mason’s life as extraordinary, dedicated to both music and his loved ones. As of now, the cause of his death has not been disclosed.
