Patriots Coach Mike Vrabel Plans to Get Counseling After Release of New Shocking Photos

New England Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel to Attend Initial Days of NFL Draft

Mike Vrabel, the head coach of the New England Patriots, has confirmed he will participate in the first two days of the NFL draft. However, he plans to leave on the third day for counseling, following the emergence of new photos that reveal an intimate relationship with former NFL reporter Deanna Russini.

In a statement released Wednesday, Vrabel mentioned that he and his family would be engaging in counseling over the weekend while traveling out of state. Consequently, he will miss Saturday’s final round of the draft.

“As I previously stated, I made a commitment to my family, this organization, and this team to be the best version of myself,” Vrabel’s statement, which was shared with ESPN, read. “To achieve that, I will start counseling this weekend. It’s something I’ve given a lot of thought to and something I would recommend to players considering counseling.”

“Leading by example is important to me, and I believe taking this step is necessary for me to be the best husband, father, and coach I can be. It’s not easy to acknowledge this, but it definitely improves who I am. I appreciate the support I’ve received and promise to approach things with renewed determination,” he added.

Vrabel’s announcement comes amid reports of leaked photos showing him and Russini in a romantic embrace at a bar in New York City back in 2020.

An eyewitness recounted to Page Six, “They were kissing and clearly into each other. He had a ring on.” According to the New York Post, Vrabel was married at the time, while Russini was just six months away from her own wedding when the photo was snapped at Tribeca Tavern.

Another witness remarked, “They seemed to be having a fantastic time, constantly pecking each other. The place was empty; I doubt anyone knew who they were, including the bartender.”

Both Vrabel and Russini have children from their respective marriages.

Additional images showcasing the couple together several years prior, alongside recent vacation photos from a luxury resort in Arizona, suggest a deeper connection.

Following an investigation revealing unsettling details regarding their relationship, Russini resigned from her role as a senior NFL reporter for The Atlantic.

In her statement on X, she remarked, “I’ve chosen to step aside before the expiration of my contract on June 30, not due to any acceptance of the narrative surrounding this situation, but to avoid giving it further attention and to not let it define my career.”

Whether planned or not, Vrabel’s counseling and family’s vacation plans will likely spare him from facing reporters’ inquiries about the recently surfaced photos.

The NFL Draft is set to commence on Thursday, April 23rd, with Round 1 starting at 8:00 PM ET/7:00 PM CT.
