Georgetown University Commencement Ceremony Features Tom Brady and John Kerry
Tom Brady, renowned for his seven Super Bowl victories with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is set to address the Class of 2026 at Georgetown University’s Commencement Ceremony in Japan. Another prominent speaker will be former Secretary of State John Kerry.
On May 16th, Brady will deliver his speech to undergraduate students at the business school. He holds the record for the most Super Bowl wins by a quarterback in NFL history and continues his role as the lead NFL analyst for Fox Sports. Additionally, he has taken on part ownership of both the Las Vegas Raiders and Birmingham City Football Club and has founded several companies in media, sportswear, and wellness sectors.
Following Brady’s address, Kerry will speak to Foreign Service undergraduates. With a 28-year tenure in the U.S. Senate, Kerry also served as the 68th Secretary of State during the Obama administration and was appointed the first presidential special envoy for climate change in 2021 under President Biden.
Cindy McCain, wife of the late Senator John McCain and executive director of the World Food Program, is expected to give the commencement address to graduate students at the McCourt School of Public Policy during the event.
Additionally, three alumni from Georgetown University—Ford President and CEO James Farley Jr., former Citigroup CFO Esha Hanaci, and Fortune editor-in-chief Emma Hinchliffe—will also address the graduating class.
Interim Georgetown President Robert M. Groves expressed enthusiasm about the speakers, stating, “We are honored to welcome this year’s distinguished group of speakers and graduates. They are leaders in their fields, and we are grateful for their words of wisdom.”
