White House Accuses Democrats of Inciting Violence After Trump Assassination Attempt

In the wake of the third assassination attempt on President Donald Trump, White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt addressed the matter on Monday, directing criticism towards certain Democratic leaders. She claimed that these officials were fueling tensions and inciting violence.

This statement came just days after Cole Allen, a 31-year-old, reportedly broke through security at the Washington Hilton and fired shots in the lobby, injuring a Secret Service agent. Leavitt held Democrats accountable, suggesting they were encouraging “deranged leftists” to resort to violence.

“These are Democratic elected officials calling for war,” she declared. “It’s not merely the media… The entire Democratic Party is portraying Trump as a fundamental threat to democracy, comparing him to Hitler and branding him a fascist.” Leavitt emphasized that these claims have influenced many individuals to act in harmful ways.

She pointed out that the rhetoric labeling Trump as a dictator has contributed to a climate of threats and attempted violence against him and his associates.

Leavitt also referenced comments from various Democratic figures, including Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, who indicated that “we are in a time of the greatest war of all time, everywhere.” She noted a narrative that suggests people are “dying of fear and anxiety” due to the Trump administration.

Furthermore, she mentioned that other prominent Democrats like Senators Elizabeth Warren, Adam Schiff, and Ed Markey have similarly described Trump in aggressive terms, perpetuating a vague call to escalate tensions.

“These are elected officials who are calling for war against the President of the United States and his supporters,” Leavitt concluded.
