Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Tez Johnson seems to be moving forward following his breakup with ex-fiancée Lyla Thompson-Weiner in February.
On Saturday, Johnson shared a somewhat ambiguous Instagram post featuring a picture of his foot next to that of another woman wearing fancy high heels.
The 23-year-old did not tag the woman and kept comments disabled on the post.
This comes in light of allegations from Thompson-Weiner, who, working part-time with the Seahawks, claimed in a TikTok video that Johnson cheated on her the day they got engaged.
According to her, he sent intimate messages to his former girlfriend soon after proposing on February 21, 2025, and even that morning.
Thompson-Weiner included a screenshot of a message in a video that reflected on their first anniversary.
She also posted clips from their engagement but obscured his face during the proposal scenes.
“This was his timeline for the day—he woke up and texted his ex-girlfriend. Then he went through the same day with me,” she explained.
“He got down on one knee and proposed. Then we had our engagement dinner. But when we got home, he texted her again.”
“It’s perplexing how you can be unfaithful both before and after a proposal. That just baffles me,” she remarked.
Thompson-Weiner concluded with a note that “this story will come out eventually,” warning against any attempts to silence her.
Meanwhile, Johnson, a seventh-round pick in 2025, has kept silent on the controversy.
He had a notable rookie season, catching 28 passes for 322 yards and scoring five touchdowns.
