Samuel Monroe Jr. on Life Support Due to Meningitis
Samuel Monroe Jr., known for his role in the ’90s film “Menace II Society,” is currently on life support, according to his family.
His wife, Shauna Stewart, shared that they have been battling to keep him alive for the past nine months as he fights meningitis. She explained that about 18 months ago, while filming in Las Vegas, he contracted the illness and subsequently faced multiple misdiagnoses in various hospitals. Because of this, his meningitis went untreated for a full eight months, which led to it spreading to his brain and spine.
Stewart’s statement noted that Samuel’s family, including his children, Kingston and Brooklyn, along with his mother and extended relatives, are asking for prayers as he remains in critical condition.
“As Shauna Stewart, Samuel’s wife, we have all been fighting for the last nine months to keep Samuel alive due to meningitis.”
Samuel Monroe Jr. has had appearances in several notable television shows and films, such as “NYPD Blue,” “Tales from the Hood,” “Set It Off,” and “The Players Club.” His family recently established a GoFundMe account to help alleviate the financial pressure caused by his illness. They noted that the emotional toll is also significant.
The GoFundMe page emphasizes that the funds raised will assist with medical expenses and support for his children during this challenging time. His kids, Kingston, who is 12, and Brooklyn, aged 11, will benefit from any contributions, as they navigate this difficult situation with their father fighting for his life.
