Jason Aldean shares insights on his marriage and his new album 'Songs About Us'

Jason Aldean Talks Family Life and New Album

Jason Aldean has a lot going on in his life, but being a devoted family man is certainly a top priority for him. In a recent chat, he opened up about his relationship with his wife, Brittany, after releasing his new album, Songs About Us. The country music star shared insights into their collaboration on the album and how family life motivated him to create such a personal record.

“It’s a mix of everything,” Aldean noted about the album. He described it as encapsulating love and heartache, reflecting the ups and downs of daily life. “That’s really the essence of what I’m experiencing right now,” he added.

His marriage to Brittany, now 11 years strong, is a central theme in his life. “We’re best friends,” he said, despite admitting that disagreements do arise from time to time. It’s important to navigate those moments: “You have to go with it. I agree to disagree,” he reflected. “Once you let go of the need to always agree, it makes things easier.”

The couple married in 2015 and are parents to two children, Memphis, 8, and Navy, 7. Aldean also has two older kids, Keeley, 23, and Kendyl, 18, from a previous marriage. Reflecting on Brittany’s growth in both motherhood and her professional ventures, he noted how supportive they are of each other. “It just works,” he said, expressing pride in what she has accomplished.

As they have navigated their lives together, the duo has also ventured into professional collaborations, including their recent duet, “Easy Gone.” Initially, Aldean thought their first song together could easily go wrong, either sounding cheesy or genuinely good. “We were very thoughtful about how to make it fit my style and brand,” he explained.

In making the music, he acknowledged Brittany’s impressive studio debut. “She blew me away,” he said, recalling how remarkable it was to see her discover her abilities. The couple even tackled more serious topics, such as emotional pain, through the song “Help You Remember.” Aldean has family members affected by dementia, making this track particularly poignant for him. “When I played it for people, it was incredibly moving,” he recalled. Many listeners seemed to relate deeply to its themes.

Despite having released 12 studio albums, Aldean remains focused on authenticity as the key to his success. “Not everyone will like my music, and that’s okay,” he remarked. His primary goal is to resonate with fans who truly understand him. “I’ll keep making music that feels right to me—the rest will follow.”
