During the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, Fox News host Jimmy Failla was recorded with a hot mic discussing the poor security, suggesting that “two random girls” were allowed to let people in.
His remarks came as he interviewed attendees on the red carpet, highlighting that security precautions seemed very inadequate that Saturday night.
“It’s like a couple of random chicks are leaving the front door open,” Failla remarked, expressing frustration with the lax security at the event.
He pointed out that staff members, rather than trained personnel, were managing the entrance. “They’re not even trying anymore,” he noted. “Even if it was a man, it wouldn’t be any better.” His comment suggests a broader issue with security protocols.
Failla also added, “They might as well put up a door stop—just a scarecrow, for all the good it does.” His criticism came shortly before an incident where a suspect named Cole Allen allegedly breached hotel security and fired shots, prompting a quick response from Secret Service agents.
Officials reported that Allen was attempting to harm President Trump and other senior officials but was apprehended swiftly.
In the aftermath, Failla spoke with another host and expressed concerns about the situation, saying, “We were very upset. We knew the security here was bad, but not this bad.”
