How the Patriots responded to Mike Vrabel's comments following the Dianna Russini incident

Players Discuss Coach Mike Vrabel’s Situation

Patriots players are beginning to voice their thoughts on coach Mike Vrabel’s recent relationship with NFL insider Deanna Russini.

Vrabel, after being questioned publicly about his personal life, fulfilled his promise to address the team during a voluntary offseason training program.

“I thought he did a great job,” tight end Hunter Henry mentioned. “He was the same Vlaves as always and brought a lot of energy to the room.”

Henry, who’s entering his 11th season in the NFL and sixth with the Patriots, expressed he’s not worried about Vrabel’s off-field matters.

“I know you want updates on Vrabel, but honestly, we’re focused,” the 31-year-old stated. “I’m concentrating on what’s happening in this building with the team. Last season was long, and now we’re transitioning quickly into the offseason. We’re in a new space, and every year is different. We’re working to mesh together as a team. I’m focused on the players in this locker room and building from square one again. A long journey lies ahead, and we need to start at the beginning.”

Other New England players shared similar views.

“Coach is going to coach and keep his focus where it needs to be,” linebacker Robert Spillane said. “I know he’s dealing with personal issues, but when he’s here, we talk football.”

“I really like my coach. Just as he stands by me, I’ll support him in this.”

Updates on the Mike Vrabel and Deanna Russini Situation

Vrabel is in his second season as the Patriots’ coach after leading the team to a Super Bowl and earning Coach of the Year honors.

Recently, attention has shifted to his relationship with Russini, who left her position at The Athletic following a report. Images surfaced of the two, married to others, holding hands in a hot tub at an Arizona resort, and later sharing a moment at a Manhattan bar.

Vrabel, a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Patriots, addressed the recent pre-NFL Draft controversy for the first time, mentioning he would miss part of the draft to seek counseling.

“All I can say is that I will provide for my family,” Vrabel stated. “But I also understand my responsibilities here. It’s an exciting time. We’ve wrapped up the first week, and we’re witnessing leadership develop, as well as welcoming new players to the team. I can’t be certain of everything I’ll need to do, but I know I’m committed to taking steps for my family and this team.”
