YouTube TV is set to transform how we experience live sports.

YouTube TV Introduces Customizable Multi-View Feature

In recent news, YouTube TV has rolled out a new feature aimed at enhancing the experience for sports fans. Subscribers can now watch up to four channels simultaneously on one screen. This exciting update will be available starting this fall, allowing users to choose from various college or professional football games offered on the platform.

YouTube CEO Neil Mohan shared the announcement on X, stating, “Today, we’re officially launching fully customizable multiviews on @YouTubeTV.” He mentioned that this update improves one of their most popular features. Now, viewers can completely control their live streaming experience, including options like the NFL Sunday Ticket, to create a more tailored viewing environment.

Previously, the multi-view option on YouTube TV restricted users to a limited selection of sports and news channels. For instance, as noted by Joe Kinsey, the platform often mixed WNBA and NFL games, making it difficult for viewers to catch both. Thankfully, that issue has been resolved.

To enjoy all four NFL games simultaneously, you’ll still need the Sunday Ticket package, available exclusively on YouTube and YouTube TV. For college football fans, it’s pretty straightforward, as many key games are already part of the standard plan.

YouTube TV has also introduced smaller, more affordable packages. Subscribers can now opt for a standard $82.99 plan or a $64.99 monthly sports package. The sports package includes nearly every channel that airs live sports, like ESPN Networks, CBS, and NBC, among others.

For sports enthusiasts, YouTube TV seems to be an excellent option—unless, of course, there’s some technical issue that interrupts the service.

Interestingly, if you want to catch every NFL game this season, you might consider a separate streaming service. For example, the FOX ONE/ESPN Unlimited Bundle costs $39.99 a month, while Peacock offers all NBC games for around $10.99 monthly, and Paramount+ covers all CBS games for $8.99. While that totals about $59.97 per month—around $5 less than YouTube TV’s Sports plan—the convenience of having everything in one place is hard to overlook. Plus, the new multi-view feature is exclusive to YouTube TV.

However, fans of other sports might want channels like TBS or TNT, which would mean spending an extra $10.99 monthly for HBO Max.

In a nutshell, the landscape of sports viewing can be quite complicated and pricey. That said, the new multi-view feature is a step in the right direction for fans.

As a fan myself, I can’t help but appreciate these developments. What about you? How do you plan to catch football games this fall?
