Stabbings in London Under Investigation as Terrorism

On Wednesday, two Jewish men were reportedly fatally stabbed in London, an incident that police are treating as a terrorist attack.

The victims, aged 76 and 34, were stabbed shortly before 11 a.m. local time. Thankfully, they are in stable condition, as per reports.

Authorities have apprehended a suspect who was Tasered during the arrest. According to London Police Commissioner Mark Rowley, this individual has a “history of significant violence and mental health issues.”

The investigation is being led by counterterrorism officers, who are trying to uncover the suspect’s nationality, background, potential terrorist connections, and whether the attack was deliberately aimed at the Jewish community in London.

Security footage captured the older victim adjusting his kipper when he was shoved into a bus stop and stabbed multiple times, as witnesses hurried to assist.

Another video showed the assailant approaching an officer, leading police to create distance before using a Taser and pepper spray to subdue him.

A police officer kicked the suspect and urged him to drop the knife, ultimately forcing him to the ground. At that point, a plainclothes officer was seen flipping the suspect over and securing the knife.

The footage also showed a member of Shomrim, a local neighborhood watch group, holding the suspect until law enforcement arrived.

Following the attack, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer acknowledged a “very worrying” increase in violence against Jews, amid ongoing investigations into similar attacks linked to the US-Israeli conflict in Iran.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan remarked that the Jewish community in the city has been the target of a series of alarming anti-Semitic attacks, stressing that there should be no tolerance for anti-Semitism in society.

As of now, London police have not commented further.
